Melissa Mayes began her real estate career in 2015 and has won numerous awards for her high sales volume. Before settling in Upstate New York, Melissa lived in Los Angeles and New York City, often escaping to Woodstock to breathe the fresh air and dive into its swimming holes. Those early getaways quickly turned into something more—she fell in love with the area and purchased a seasonal 1920s cottage in Platte Clove, transforming it into a year-round retreat and, eventually, a thriving vacation rental.

As a city dweller, Melissa built a successful career as a stylist for top home furnishings brands, collaborating with photographers and art directors to craft visually compelling environments. Her passion for architecture and interiors led her to earn a Master’s in Interior Architecture, specializing in sustainable building. As a LEED AP, she developed expertise in eco-conscious design and high-performance homes.

Originally from Arkansas, Melissa finds the beauty of the Catskills and Hudson Valley reminiscent of the Ozarks and the Mississippi River Delta. The region’s rich history, creative energy, and deep connection to nature make it a place she is proud to call home.

In between phone calls, you’ll find her on the tennis court, hiking with her rescue dog, LaLa, or chasing waterfalls.
